What Is Black Mold?
8/9/2017 (Permalink)
According to the CDC Stachybotrys chartarum is a greenish-black mold more commonly known as “black mold” or “toxic mold.” This type of mold is known to grow on material that has a high cellulose and low nitrogen content, for example, fiberglass, gypsum board, paper, dust, and lint. Mold growth occurs when there is constant moisture exposure from water damage, excessive humidity, water leaks, condensation, or flooding.
Molds are very common in buildings and homes and will grow anywhere indoor where moisture is present, so you should be aware of this fact and be proactive in searching for potential mold growth. If any mold is found in your home or business it should be inspected and treated by a professional. You should be cautious around the infected area and be sure not to touch or disturb the mold.
