Mold Growth after Basement Flooding
It is so difficult to deal with any kind of property damage to your home. One of our customers came back from a wonderful week-long vacation to find that his water heater in the finished basement had been leaking. The prolonged leaking affected three bedrooms, and most of the furniture that was in those rooms. Since the homeowner was not home for several days, mold started to grow all over the walls in the basement. When he called us, we told him that we could help him with the extensive damage. SERVPRO of Henry and Spalding Counties crew went in and removed all things that had mold, including the carpet, carpet pad, tack strips, baseboards, toe kicks, the mantle, doors, framing, etc. They also had to remove a lot of the drywall that was affected by the microbial growth. They had to come back and remove all the furniture and contents from the bedrooms and mitigate the water damage and do the proper mold remediation. After they were finished and a clearance test was done to make sure that there was no more mold present in that basement. The best part once our job is done, is knowing that we are helping families during some really traumatizing times, and make it "Like it never even happened."
